Licensed Users
Organizations contracted with MINC#NIMC to use MINCs for approved purposes
Licensed Users are organizations which have contracted with MINC#NIMC to use MINCs. They are provided with current MINCs, regular updates and read-only access to the MINC#NIMC system.
Licensed Users must sign a License Agreement, which includes a list of Approved Uses for MINCs.
Ask how to become a Licensed User by sending an email to info@minc-nimc.ca and see our Fee Schedule.
The following restrictions are in place to protect the confidentiality of individuals in the MINC database:
No personal information can be released from the MINC/NIMC system to a Licensed User other than the name and MINC.
A MINC will be released only when the physician's identity can be confirmed.
Licensed Users must provide, at a minimum, the applicant's full name and date of birth when requesting a MINC. For additional information, see Core personal data requirements.
This prevents the incorrect identification of individuals who share the same name. If other applicant information is similar, additional information may be required (e.g., the year of graduation). Thus, while only the name and MINC will be released to a Licensed User, a Licensed User may be required to provide additional applicant information to confirm an individual's identity.
