About MINC

What is a MINC?

Within Canada’s multi-faceted medical system, the accurate and reliable identification of individual physicians is critical. That is why the Medical Identification Number for Canada (MINC) was created in 2002.

MINC is a valuable tool for any organization that maintains a physician database. With MINC, a Prime User or Licensed User can ensure that all physicians are accurately identified in their own database – and in the databases of every other Prime User or Licensed User with whom they share or compare data.
